28 Things You May Want For Your Home Office Now That You're Working From Home

1. A heavy duty power strip so you can plug in your phone, laptop, smart home devices, lamp, speaker...everything you need at once! No more running around the house to charge everything in different rooms due to a lack of outlets.

the power strip in black with 10 outlets and four USB ports
Promising review: "Really needed more plugs for my living room, since there's always a problem if there is more than one person who wants to use their laptop, plug in a game, and charge their phone. I tried the USB port with my Samsung lightning cable for my phone and it worked just as good as usual — convenient so my friends don't need to bring around matching adaptors. The spacing is very convenient for my laptop to have room next to the TV plug, and now I can extend it and reach the HDMI port at the same time. The cable has a good amount of reach, but it's thick and won't tangle. Overall worth the purchase."

2. weekly planner mouse pad that'll help you keep your daily tasks at top of mind during your busy day. This unique combination notepad and mouse pad has a slot for a pen and lined sections for each weekday, the weekend, and to jot some notes.

"my awesome week" pad features sections for weekdays, one for the weekend, and one for notes
Promising review: "The calendar is incredibly handy for keeping track of projects at work. There's plenty of room for writing down daily tasks — I've been known to cram in several tasks in a day's column for particularly busy weeks. The spot for the pen is really handy, too. And I love the positive affirmations for each day! The whole thing is a great vibe for the week. Quality wise this product is excellent. The paper is sturdy, and each week tears off easily from the side. It arrived plastic-wrapped and in good condition."

3. A set of geometric wire decor guaranteed to add some fun detail to your desk and make it Instagram-worthy.

Promising review: "I absolutely LOVE these. I have been drooling over geometric pendant lights, but couldn't afford them at $60 each. So I found this set and wondered if I could rig something with lights. I was delighted to find that they snap together and could hang them in multiple ways!! I was able to snap them around the wire of a plain pendant light, and it turned out even better than I expected. Highly recommended. I would buy again and tell anyone about my new obsession."

Promising review: "These are beyond wonderful for protecting the desk and providing a nice surface for writing, keyboarding, and for a mousepad. After purchasing one, I knew I needed two more. These terrific desk pads are not only functional but are also beautiful. There was no funky smell and I simply rolled them back to get them to lay flat. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again."

Promising review: "I bought this to cover up the ugly desk chair that came with my dorm. I love it! It's really soft and luxurious, plus it doesn't shed. When you first get it, there are some creases from how it was packaged, but you just have to fluff it up and they go away."

6. Himalayan salt lamp with a wood base and dimmer switch to give your home office some positive energy. Plus, you can never have too many cute light fixtures.

Promising review: "This lamp is prefect. Great light, plus it’s really pretty and easily fits any decor theme. With the dimmer we can dim it to barely on and it provides enough light to see in the middle of the night and it’s soft and dim enough that it isn’t noticed by our new baby when he’s up for feeding. It lets me see what I’m doing while keeping it dark enough for him. When we get up for the day early in the morning we turn it up and it brightens the whole room with a soft warm light and we don’t need to turn on our bedroom light to see."

7. A set of four artificial succulents in little glass vases that'll add a touch of greenery to your space — even if there's a lack of sunlight.

Promising review: "These are amazing!!! They look so real you have to touch them. They are plastic of course. Succulents tend to look more on the fake side anyway. The dirt looks very real. I assume the rocks are real. I am so pleased with these that I will be buying another set of four when housewarming or decorating."

Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in three assortments).

8. A set of six cable clips so you can keep your charger cords organized and in sight. No more digging around and behind your desk to find them.

Promising review: "These seem to work very well. Other brands had comments about them not sticking well so I went with this brand and am very happy with them. I am using them on my desk at work as well as on the back of my night table at home to keep my charger cords from slipping behind the furniture. Sure works better than Scotch taping the cords to my desk

9. memory foam seat cushion to provide you with tons of extra comfort while you're sitting at your desk all day. It's kinda hard to be productive when you're literally in pain.

This useful cushion can help to relieve pain in the lower back, lumbar, tailbone, prostate, hip, piriformis, spine, legs, back, and more.

Promising review: "We have purchased five of these seat cushions, with three as gifts. Two of those we purchased this cushion for have pretty serious sciatica problems. It was so much help for one that he ordered a second for his office chair, so he would not have to carry his first one from the car to the office. Total transformation for him! My husband and I each use one. I've had back surgery, and I can't explain what this seat cushion does for my back issues when driving."

10. An Echo Dot so Alexa can be your at-home assistant. She can set alarms and reminders for you, play your favorite songs while you work, and more.

the echo dot in white with a speech bubble that says "alexa, play study music"
this compact smart speaker can play music, answer questions, read the news, check the weather, set alarms, control compatible smart home devices, and more.

Promising review: "I absolutely love it! Bought to use as a radio/ambient noise device as I fall asleep, but now realize the capabilities FAR exceeded what I initially purchased it for, so I also use it as an alarm clock, Bluetooth speaker for my iPad, personal assistant ('Alexa, add milk to my shopping list'), Amazon Music speaker (which I never used until buying the Dot). The sound quality is really good, especially considering it’s small size and relatively 'budget friendly' price. I definitely recommend to anyone, and if you’re a Prime member...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR. Don’t even 'add to cart' just click 'buy now' and watch your life get simpler.

11. Wacky Waving Inflatable Tube Guy to keep on your desk so you can have a little dance party with him when you need some cheering up.

Promising review: "I opened the package and screamed for joy! As I placed the 9-volt battery my hands were trembling with what was going to happen next! As I turned on the wacky waving inflatable tube man I knew I have a friend for life. Someone you can really count on cheering you up when you are feeling down. He brought me such joy, I started to cry with laughter and happiness.

the organizer with three small compartments, a shelf, and five slots on top for holding files

Promising Review: "Wonderful product that meets expectations. I bought this product since it had several features I was looking for — file sectionals for papers, shelf for folders or papers, drawer bins for various items. It really saved me from buying several different products or buying something with features I didn't need. The construction and material are solid and sturdy like you'll find in high-end offices. The drawers work seamlessly, sliding as if riding on air. The product description was spot on. Delivery was fast. Packaging was sensible."

13. A set of mini macaron trinket boxes you can use to store small office supplies or even just for decor. These pretty little things will brighten up your space and your day.

Several containers of different colors and they're shaped like macarons

Promising review: "These little macaron containers are perfect. I am using them for various crafting purposes and to travel. I use them to travel and put my smaller stud earrings in them. I take them with me for paperclips and stuff in the office when I have meetings on the go. The colors are very pretty and the quantity is more than adequate for the cost. They are very nicely made and were individually packaged. This is a fun item especially if you are short on space and only need small storage."

14. An ergonomic wrist-rest set made of soft and breathable material to make all that typing more comfy for you.

hands typing and using a mouse while resting on the wrist cushions

Promising review: "Wow, what a difference! These keyboard and mouse wrist pads make keyboarding so much more comfortable that they're helping me type faster, and no more 'mousing shoulder,' since you don't need to move your arm around as much while using the mouse. (Seriously, 'mousing shoulder' has been a very painful issue on many occasions. These pads are surprisingly helpful with the ergonomics of the keyboard/mouse area.) Both pads are very comfortable on the wrists, and have good traction on the bottom so they stay put on your desk or typing surface. I'm typing and keyboarding for much longer time periods, with very little pain. Highly recommend!"

Promising review: "I love this product! I have it at my desk to display pictures and hold pens/pencils because I don’t have cubicle walls at my office. I get lots of compliments on it!! It holds Polaroid sized pictures perfectly and I have two on one stand just fine. :)"

19. A pastel expanding file folder that'll help you organize your paperwork, mail, and other annoying papers that may be cluttering your work space.

the pastel folders with a snap closure in pink, blue, yellow, green, and more

Promising review: "I absolutely love this! I've always been the type of person to have a different folder for each subject in school, and to buy new folders every semester because they accumulate wear and tear by the end of the term. But it became too annoying to have to switch out notebooks and folders every day depending on what classes I had. It also increased the likelihood that I'd forget a folder for a particular class, so I gave this a try. After four months of continuous use, it's held up really well! It holds everything that I need and it is always by my side. It actually still looks somewhat new. I got compliments on it because it's cute and a great organizational tool."

Get it from Amazon for $7.99 (available in 12 colors).

20. And a desktop document holder with an adjustable clip to keep those ~extra~ important work papers in sight.

the document holder next to a computer

It can hold up to 150 sheets in place! AND it folds flat for storage.

Promising review: "I love this as a writer. I was able to attach a miniature reading light to it and it holds my papers for when I'm typing or editing from them. I used to prop my papers up on anything and they'd slide down. This is great and I move it to the couch when I'm working on my laptop, too."

Get it from Amazon for $13.26.

21. A pack of various sticky notes so you can easily mark a page in your notebook, leave yourself notes on your desk, etc. No more wasting time shuffling through everything to find where you wrote down the time of that meeting.

Promising review: "I love how it has a variety of different sticky notes and REALLY LOVE that it's all contained in a nice little notebook. Very sturdy construction of the "notebook" and a great assortment of sticky notes. They also adhere very well. Great colors/styles. Another wonderful product from Mr. Pen!!"

Promising review: "I was being picky about my desk supplies and wanted rose gold supplies and marble accents. I ordered these and they are so perfect! The paper clips have a little 'lip' that separates the papers a little bit, but everything is so cute and I love the container it comes in as well.

23. A super cute ergonomic mouse pad with wrist support so you can add some personality to your work space and also keep your hand and wrist as comfortable as possible.

reviewer's marble printed mouse pad

Promising review: "This mouse pad is tacky on the backside which I didn't realize, but really like. It keeps it from sliding around. Overall this is a great product for the money and keeps my hand/wrist from hurting throughout the day."

24. cell phone stand that'll allow you to keep your phone propped up and plugged in while you work so you can easily glance at messages, calls, etc.

reviewer's phone on a silver stand
reviewer's iphone on a rose gold stand

Promising review: "Love this stand. It works great on my desk. My favorite part and the reason I chose this stand over others that are similar was the place for the charging cable. You do not have to disconnect the charger to remove this phone from the stand. The design allows you to pick up the phone from the stand with the charger still plugged in. Others do not have an open top. So you have to thread the cable through a hole so it becomes a pain to pick up and put down your phone." for $8.99+ (available in seven colors).

25. A 12-pack of decorative cards with a wooden block stand to provide you with some daily inspiration and words of encouragement.

the set of cards and the wooden stand
reviewer's card on their desk that says "be kind and hustle"

Promising review: "I LOVE THESE! I ordered it for the "stay present" card, but saw the "be kind and hustle" and used it. I like that I can change them out if I'm feeling stuck and need new motivation. They're all clean, bright and pretty. Perfect size, not too big and not too small. Cannot recommend enough, such a cute idea. Would be awesome for a gift to the lady in your life that has a desk :)"

Get it from Amazon for $15.44 (available in two designs).

26. An LED desk lamp with a simple, clean design that provides five different color modes and 10 brightness levels. It also has a built-in USB port, a tiltable head, and a swivel so you can create a truly custom lighting experience that's easy on the eyes in low-light work areas.

Reviewer image of lamp on desk

Promising review: "Absolutely my new favorite desk lamp. I love that it plugs into a USB port because I have one set up on my desk. The touch-sensitive buttons are great and respond quickly and the dimming is very gradual and doesn't jump from one setting to the next. The ability to change the warmth of the light is great because I often end up staying up late and the warmer light is a lot easier on the eyes. It looks very clean and modern has a really nice matte silver and white finish. It can be bent all the way up or completely flat down which is great because I often tinker with things and need more direct light closer to the item I'm fixing or working on. It's easy to move, but stays in place! 10/10!"

Get it from Amazon for $23.99.

27. And an under-desk foot rest to help you feel extra comfy while sitting for hours. It'll help take the pressure off your feet and lower back and assist in improving your posture.

Reviewer image of footrest
Same reviewer using footrest

It comes with two machine-washable covers.

Promising review: "So I haven't had any issues touching the ground when I sit in a chair since I was like eight years old, but when I sit for extended periods my ankles can hurt if my foot is at a weird angle. My 'normal' footrest in front of the couch is basically a square. If I was laying down it would be ok but if I sitting it is not comfortable at all. Using this footrest I can rest at a comfortable angle. As you can see in the pic I use it two different ways and they are both 10x better than my 'normal' footrest. In addition, this rest is very light so you can take it anywhere in the house, or even out of the house if you had a reason to, with no problems at all. if you have any foot issues or need to touch the ground this really is a great solution."

Get it from Amazon for $29.99.

28. A faux fur chair cover to make your work chair look (and feel) more appealing to sit in all day.

Reviewer image of white faux fur cover

Promising review: "Absolutely love mine! I bought two: one for my home 'office' when WFH and one for my cubicle at work. The pink faux fur is soo soft and looks beautiful; it really makes my desk pop and feels divine against my skin! The back side is kind of suede-like, feels sturdy but not too thick, perfect for draping over things. Would recommend it if you need faux fur and want something inexpensive and super comfy!"
